This is Dan the security guard. He grew up down the street from the house where Nelson Mandela was born. He was also shot in the face when he was 21 years old.
Eric is one of the Marines that Generation Kill is based on. I spend most of my time here on and off set with him. Spending the last ten years of his life either being trained to kill or in situations that were unimaginable to me prior to this trip, I'm amazed at how well we get along and in some weird way how much we have in common. I will be writing a lot more about Eric on here soon.
